Fashion short film showcasing French designer Vanessa Bruno’s latest collection. It’s playful, emotional, heart breaking….it’s living life. Effortlessly chic. Refreshing.

Coming off an amazing 3 day weekend I wanted to post two fashion videos that will ease my mood into a state of mellow tranquility. The first video above is by Commes des Garcons called Wonderland for their new fragrance Wonderwood.

“The three minute film was created by The Quay Brothers who came up with the concept of woodland happenings from the view of a porcelain doll after smelling the fragrance.” (source)

The second video is by Prada and it is called Trembled Blossoms (2008).

“The original animated four-minute short, entitled Trembled Blossoms, is the final feature of a body of work that began last summer in conjunction with the design of the women’s Spring 2008 collection that debuted in Milan in September, based on inked drawings (used as wallpaper designs) which depict a lush, slightly scandalous, landscape of flowers and nymphs that evokes Prada’s vision, blending suggestions of Art Nouveau, Liberty, Aubrey Beardsley, and Hieronymus Bosch.”

“…directed by James Lima, produced by Hi! Production, Max Brun, with animation by Sight Effects, L.A. The goal was to create a classic animated film, from Hollywood’s golden era of the 1930s and 1940s, while employing modern animation and motion capture technology.” (source)

The beautiful model Crystal Renn is featured in the May issue of French Vogue, photographed by Steven Klein. By definition, I am curvy young lady – tiny waist and bountiful bottom. And it’s inspiring to see French Vogue consistently featuring curvy models without making a spectical of it, as in the case with the U.S. magazines.

Like “Did you know we are featuring a curvy model in our magazine? We are going to place our curvy model and next to our skinny model to compare and feel good about ourselves.”

Yeah. I have a lot to say on this subject.

As a lover of menswear, I sit up tall to see reinterpretations of classic menswear. Unlike woman’s wear most of time these days, menswear seems to make slow and sublet changes to their classic tailoring. And this is a good thing. As in the pictures above, taking a nice well, fitted blazer, the leather sleeves’ edges up the blazer without taking it out of its classic element.

I can think of someone who would look beautiful in this blazer. Can you?

LOQUITA founder, Sara Rotman tranlates her love of sport and the great outdoors into beautiful silk scarves.

Too simple and too chic to have just only scarves, LOQUITA designs are carried over into Ascots (daytime ties) and into handkerchiefs.

My favorite part of her website is where LOQUITA designates a section towards people who are showing off their scarves, ascots, and handkerchiefs.

Aitor Throup is a menswear designer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His fascination with the human anatomy is extended into his design aesthetic. An art director and stylist for magazines like I-D magazine, Arena Homme+, and V-Man. As a creative consultant for Umbro, he designed ‘Away Kits’ for English football teams like Manchester.
